  • RANDRIAMBOAVONJY (Vonjy) Solofonandrasana

    Project Manager Fianarantsoa (Rainwater Catchment)

    English Teacher and Project Manager with 10+ years of experience working with NGOs and local government (USAID, Peace Corps, US Embassy). Vonjy currently resides in Fianarantsoa, Madagascar with his family and is a community advocate to bring resources to local schools.

  • RANDRIAMAMONJY Rock William

    Project Manager Mahajanga (Environmental and English Center)

    Project Manager and Educator, William boasts over a decade of expertise collaborating with NGOs and local government such as Parc National Ancarofantsika, Peace Corps, and the US Embassy. Residing in Andranofasika, he dedicates his time to teaching English at the CEG, spearheading the community environmental initiative "Growing Madagascar's Trees," and co-managing the SELA English Club.

  • Rose Walsh

    Peace Corps Madagascar Volunteer currently living and working in Malagasy communities. Outside of a passion for volunteering, Rose enjoys creative writing and has personal goals of becoming a published author along with starting a NGO dedicated to mental health services. Prior to her Peace Corps service, Rose also accomplished the completion of the Bonner Leader Service program. Rose is also a certified yoga instructor and has completed her BA in Psychology and Criminology.

  • AINAZANADIMBY Herizo

    Project Officer dedicated to transforming lives through government projects funded by the Global Fund in Madagascar. He also shares his expertise as a Professor of Economics in private Universities in Madagascar. Herizo founded Highland English School (HES), located in Fianarantsoa. His vision is to empower young people with the tools they need to succeed, making a lasting impact on the community. Herizo holds a degree in Development Economics from the University of Bordeaux in France.

  • Ryan Parks

    Graduate student researching the presence, processes, and sources of drinking water contamination in southeastern Madagascar. In addition to his work in Madagascar, Ryan is involved in community-based environmental health initiatives in Skid Row, Los Angeles; Tororo, Uganda; and Cape Town, South Africa.

  • Thibeaux Hirsche

    Photographer/Videographer with work experience in organizations such as the Jamaican Cancer Care Research Institute and Mikashboks (Sierra Leone). He is passionate about authentic storytelling through film and empowering communities to author their own stories and share them with the world. Thibeaux currently lives between LA and Middletown, CT, where he studies film at Wesleyan University.

  • Tojosoa Raherinirainy

    Director at Made in Dago, after training in graphic design and visual art in Germany, Tojo returned to Madagascar. He served as a Language and Culture Facilitator with the U.S. Peace Corps for seven years, blending my design skills with a passion for social development.

    In 2019, Tojo founded Made in Dago to focus on cultural and environmental preservation through a unique, community-driven approach. His commitment to his country's development stems from personal experience and technical skills.

  • RAKOTONINDRINA Rova

    HR Manager at a Public Institution within the Ministry of Public Health. He is also a Professor of Management and Organization of Enterprise in Private Universities. Rova is the visionary founder of the Matsiatra Health Club in Fianarantsoa. He harbors a deep enthusiasm for local development, aspiring to bring prosperity and sustainable growth to the communities.

    Rova graduated from the University of Antananarivo.

  • RASOLOARISOA Aina Luciana

    Aina currently works as a hospitality professional both in Madagascar and abroad. She is a small business owner and the principal designer of Ain’ampela, creating pieces that are inspired by the beauty and culture of Madagascar. A strong proponent of women’s rights and gender equality, Aina studied public law at the University of Fianarantsoa and CNTEMAD.

    In her free time Aina loves to dance and paint.

Alyson Lucas

Co-director ZARASOA

Alyson Lucas is a graduate of California State University Channel Islands and a former Peace Corps Education Volunteer in Madagascar. She currently works as an associate at SOIL Haiti. Her commitment to ZARASOA is to enhance opportunities in the region of Fianarantsoa, Madagascar for young women to find meaningful work and for students to learn in supportive school environments.

In her free time, Alyson loves learning languages and reading poetry, and currently studies Malagasy and Haitian Creole.

William Huestis

William Huestis served in Peace Corps Madagascar assisting in projects ranging from reforestation efforts to English teacher training and environmental conservation. He has also worked alongside the U.S. Embassy and foreign NGOs in Madagascar and he left the Peace Corps with the joint highest language proficiency in Malagasy. During his undergraduate study, William founded and ran two student-led organizations - the Wesleyan Surf Team and the Wesleyan Golf Team. William graduated with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Philosophy he has also interned with the Department of State.

William’s core values and beliefs are that change should come from and by Malagasy individuals and that any efforts on his part should be to help facilitate those ideas.
